Legal Investigator Legislative Day 2026

Date: Thursday, February 26, 2026 

Time: Meet at noon

Location: Washington State Capitol, Olympia

What: Join fellow WALI members for scheduled meetings with state legislators to advocate for eliminating the retail sales tax on investigative services. Meetings confirmed with Senator Phil Fortunato (a private investigator) and others; more being added. We have a strong chance of achieving our goals this year, but we need people to show up and advocate for our profession. 

Why it matters: Lawmakers are receptive—and already discussing a proposed amendment. This is our window.
